Trudeau’s Liberal candidate spent more than $250,000 of taxpayers’ money on office furniture and a new car

August 22, 2021

Ottawa, ON – Today, Conservative Candidate Michael Barrett released the following statement about documents that show Justin Trudeau’s candidate for South Shore – St. Margarets, Bernadette Jordan, spent more than $250,000 of taxpayers’ money on office furniture and a new car:

“Justin Trudeau and his Liberals have a long history of wasting and mismanaging taxpayers’ money. Spending more than $250,000 on office furniture and a new car is completely inappropriate and we are calling on Jordan to repay the money to taxpayers.

“It’s unclear from these documents when the office furniture was purchased. Did Trudeau’s candidate approve this expense during the pandemic, when hundreds of thousands of Canadian taxpayers were losing their jobs and struggling to pay their bills?

“Canadians can’t afford more of Justin Trudeau’s waste and corruption. Canada’s Recovery Plan is Erin O’Toole’s plan to secure the future by restoring accountability to Ottawa.”

The documents can be reviewed here and here.
